This study is aimed to analyze a particular learner’s cognitive processes as the learner engages in a reading task. The data was collected primarily by think-aloud, while the interview was used as a complementary source. The think-aloud was conducted while the learner is engaged in a reading task. Therefore, in this essay, the cognitive process will be analysed by comparing the Cognitive Load Theory (CLT) framework to a theoretical framework of reading comprehension as suggested in the cognitive approaches to understanding reading. The data collected from the interview and the think-aloud were transcribed, coded, and categorized, resulting in three major categories, that are the point of difficulties in learning, cognitive processes, and motivation. Each of the categories conveys sub-categories. The present study finds that reading is a complex process that is more likely to impose a high load on a learner’s cognitive load. The key strategy in dealing with a complex task according to the CLT framework is to manage the intrinsic load that is, reducing the workload of working memory by creating or automating schema held in long-term memory. The paper is also elaborating on a further discussion around the cognitive process, motivation, and metacognition with the reading comprehension.

Penelitian ini bertujuan unutuk mengetahui hubungan antara citra diri dengan kematangan karir pada siswa Madrasah Aliyah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik sampling insidental dalam pengambilan sampel penelitian. Responden yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 121 siswa Madrasah Aliyah. Pengukuran dalam penelitian ini menggunakan instrument yang berupa skala citra diri dan skala kematangan karir. Analisis data yang dilakukan menggunakan teknik korelasi product moment. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,483 dengan taraf signifikan sebanyak 0,000 atau (p< 0, 05). Berdasarkan hasil dari analisis hipotesis yang dilakukan, dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif antara citra diri dengan kematangan karir pada siswa Madrasah Aliyah.

A video is a powerful tool in analyzing teaching in class. However, the use of video footage of practice-based that has already existed in a teacher education institution still lacks to be investigated. The study aims to give broader knowledge and a better understanding that video footage of practice-based can be reused to analyze the teaching in class even though it was recorded a long time ago. Instead of using it as a reflection tool for pre-service teachers to improve their teaching skills, this tool can be reused for a different perspective, especially in investigating teaching in class. Therefore, by applying a literature review this study tries to answer how the teaching in class can be analyzed using video footage. Since it uses the video that has already existed, some strategies (eg, selecting the video’s segment, and method) are required and discussed in this study. In doing so, the study contributes to giving broader knowledge in the pedagogy field by giving a new perspective for educators and scholars that the video footage of practice-based can be reused to analyze the teaching in class.

Nowadays, consumers are not only looking for good tastes, but they are also looking for a cosy cafe atmosphere and satisfying service. The high competition in the culinary business has forced entrepreneurs to offer different concepts to attract customers. This study will give an account of analyzing the role of cafe atmosphere, service quality and customer satisfaction in customer purchase intention in thematic cafe in Surabaya. This study involved 150 respondents with PLS-SEM was used to analyze the data. The analysis shows that all of the hypotheses proposed are supported. The results of this study also present that, compared to service quality, the cafe atmosphere has a stronger effect on customer satisfaction, leading to repurchase intention of the customers.

Citra diri remaja putri adalah pembentukan diri yang meliputi perasaan dan pandangan diri sendiri. Pada masa remaja, gambaran tubuh serta penampilan dapat mempengaruhi penerimaan dirinya. Kasus citra diri remaja putri yang cemas dalam penggunaan Instagram ditemui di SMA Negeri 1 Kebomas. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini untuk mencari tahu secara mendalam tentang bentuk citra diri remaja putri ditinjau dari kecemasan penggunaan instagram, serta peran guru bimbingan dan konseling dalam pembentukan diri remaja putri. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan rancangan metode studi kasus. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah lima remaja putri di SMA Negeri 1 Kebomas. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah dengan triangulasi.

The COVID-19 pandemic, which lasts until mid-2020, threatens the family resilience sector to meet primary needs. Community resilience relates to the ability of the community to be able to use the available resources (such as technology, food, work, and a sense of security) in meeting basic needs and carrying out their social functions. Therefore, it is necessary to implement a philanthropic program immediately. One of the program activities at LPPM Unesa is the philanthropy of staple foods. This activity is an element of supporting family resilience in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. In line with the concepts of Marx and Engles, that social bond has the meaning of the bond of solidarity. Philanthropy is social capital and makes it a dimension of social support, in the form of information support, social interaction, and self-esteem. In general, the provision of social support by universities to the community indicates the level of participation at the local level. The hope is to create family physical endurance.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara efikasi diri dan motivasi berprestasi dengan kecemasan akademik peserta kelas VIII SMP Negeri 20 Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Subjek yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu 190 peserta didik kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 20 Surabaya. Alat ukur dalam penelitian ini menggunakan skala efikasi diri, skala motivasi berprestasi dan skala kecemasan akademik. Analisis yang digunakan yaitu korelasi product moment dan korelasi berganda dengan bantuan program SPSS Statistics 24 For Windows. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan 1) Semakin tinggi efikasi diri dan motivasi berprestasi peserta didik maka semakin rendah kecemasan akademiknya. 2) Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,553 dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p< 0, 05) dengan sumbangan efektif variabel efikasi diri dan motivasi berprestasi secara bersama-sama terhadap kecemasan akademik peserta didik sebesar 30% sedangkan 70% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kontrol diri dan perilaku asertif dengan prokrastinasi akademik peserta didik kelas IX SMP Negeri 34 Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah korelasi product moment dan korelasi multiple product moment. Hasil dari analisis data dari korelasi product moment antara kontrol diri dengan prokrastinasi akademik menunjukkan koefisien korelasi sebesar-0,698 dan taraf sigifikansi sebesar 0,000, perilaku asertif dengan prokrastinasi akademik sebesar-0,442 dan dan taraf sigifikansi sebesar 0,000 serta kontrol diri dengan perilaku asertif sebesar 0,719 dan taraf sigifikansi sebesar 0,000. Hasil analisis data dari korelasi multiple product moment secara bersama-sama antara ketiga variabel menunjukkan hasil koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,703 dan taraf sigifikansi sebesar 0,000 yang menunjukkan bahwa kontrol diri dan perilaku asertif secara bersama sama berhubungan dengan variabel prokrastinasi akademik dengan hubungan yang kuat. Koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,495 memiliki arti bahwa variabel kontrol diri dan variabel perilaku asertif secara bersamasama memberikan pengaruh sebesar 49, 5% terhadap prokrastinasi akademik, sedangkan untuk sisanya yaitu 50, 5% dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diukur dalam penelitian ini.

This study objective to analyze the impact of motivation on teachers performance Vocational High School in Bangil. Data collection techniques by distributed a questionnaire using a five-likert scale. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. Samples taken from each school amounted to 3 teachers from each department, so there were 42 respondents from 5 schools.. The analysis technique used to answer the research hypothesis uses simple linear regression. The results showed that teacher motivation had an effect on teacher performance in vocational high school
