2018 Encouraging Literacy in Mathematics Teaching and Learning: Junior High School Teachers’ Perspectives
School literacy program (SLP) tries to nurture the attitude of noble character to children through reading activities, since such activities are believed to become a reflective, analytical, and critical skill leading to the development of other disciplines including mathematics. Consequently program literacy needs to be applied in classroom learning by mathematics teachers. Thus, the aims of this study is to explore teachers’ perspectives toward the management of learning and teaching mathematics by involving literacy activities. Fifty-eight mathematics teachers at junior high school were invited to fill out a set of questionnaire consisting of 14 items related to literacy activities in teaching and learning mathematics. The teachers’ responses on this set of items were then analyzed by studying the tendency of whether they get used to carry out the examined activities by the items or not based on each item frequency. Generally, results indicate that all the literacy activities within the set of items have already been carried out by teachers, although not all teachers have implement it in their teaching practices. All teachers admitted to have 15-minutes habituation of reading, ask students to pose questions which relates various learning resources being read. This situation picturing potential activities to develop teachers’ professionalism in improving literacy.

2018 Fragile Watermarking Technique using a Nonlinear Block Mapping in Spatial Domain
The increasingly sophisticated multimedia technology in Internet has led to the need for data security, including copyright protection and data integrity detection that have created significant problems. One solution to achieve data security is the digital watermarking technique, which embeds hidden information or confidential data into the host image. Fragile watermarking is one of a digital watermarking technique designed to detect slight changes to the watermark. This technique is widely used for the authentication process. To spread the neighbouring pixels of the image to a mostly dispersed location, we use a chaotic map. The most important aspect of chaotic map is their maximum sensitivity to the initial conditions and their spreading behaviour throughout image space. This paper emphasizes the ability of chaotic maps using non-linear block mapping techniques, pseudorandom sequence, in spatial domains …

2018 The development of mathematics interactive comic for third grades of elementary school
In this study, researchers developed an interactive comic media learning mathematics material multiplication for the class III Primary School. The purpose of this study is to (1) describe the process of making interactive comic media, and (2) describe the validity of the interactive comic media. This research is a developmental study using a customized 4-D (four-D) development model. From the validation test results to the media expert, the interactive comics developed got a percentage value of 75%. While the percentage value obtained from the material experts was 95%. Data from the results of a limited trial conducted at two schools showed positive student’s responses. This is indicated by the percentage value of each questionnaire item above 75%. The conclusion of this research is the interactive comic media of learning mathematics of multiplication material for the third grade of elementary school developed is declared valid and feasible for use in learning.
