2020 Analysis of The Needs of Parents in Mentoring Early Childhood during Learning from Home
Since Covid-19, the government has established policies to minimize the spread of the virus, one of which is by maximizing learning from students’ homes. This policy further strengthens the role of parents as the first and foremost education. However, not a few parents have problems mentoring their children while learning from home, especially in early childhood. The purpose of this research is to analyze the needs of parents in mentoring early childhood during learning from home. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires. Respondents in this study placed 267 parents in Bendo District, Magetan Regency, East Java, Indonesia, determined by proportional random sampling technique. The analysis used is proportion analysis using descriptive statistics. The results showed that as many as 82, 20% of parents need mentoring in parenting their children while learning from home is extremely important. Parents need mentor through non-formal education programs. These results are supported by the suitability of the results for each sub-variable including:(1) the need of knowledge to mentor the children by the percentage of 80, 43%;(2) the need of parenting skills in mentoring children by the percentage of 85, 58%;(3) the need of social support in mentoring children by the percentage of 82, 96%;(4) the need of motivation and self-management of parents needed by the percentage of 82, 21%; and (5) the need of self-esteem of parents needed by the percentage of 79, 86%.

2020 English Academic Writing Skills of Online News: A Study of English Course on Chinese and Kurdish Students
The aim of this study was to investigate students’ perception of Kurdish and Chinese editorial writing, and find out the differences of linguistical complexity between those editorials. Methods of this study were quantitative approaches, using descriptive and inferential statistics to describe the reporting of news. The major finding, revealed that the Kurdish students’ perception of editorial’writing were more complex linguistically than Chinese editorials, and it had significant differences. Secondly, the Kurdish and Chinese students’ perception of editorial texts studied were of argumentative nature. Thirdly, with regard to the reporting purpose, none of the editorials in the corpus aim to amuse readers. Chinese editorials accomplish on one goal while Kurdish editorials convey multiple aims. Fourthly, both Chinese and Kurdish texts were similar in terms of titles and grammatical structure. Therefore, most of the titles were summary statements and sentence structure rather than catchy headlines. These findings assist with research and EFL/EJP students to be observant of the linguistic differences between Kurdish and Chinese in English forms. In implication, the recent study improves the quality of editorial writings of Kurdish writers; it provides an option for further studies of linguistics between two other languages.

2020 Expression Shaping pada Anak Melalui Aktivitas Sosiodrama
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas sosiodrama dalam pengungkapan ekspresi bahasa anak usia 5–6 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan expost facto. Subjek pada penelitian ini sebanyak 32 guru dan 32 orang tua anak di TK Surabaya. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini melalui kuisioner online yang disebar menggunakan google form. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, studi ini menemukan bahwa metode sosiodrama berkontribusi positif terhadap kemampuan bahasa, terutama pada jumlah kosakata yang diucapkan anak untuk mengekspresikan perasannya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh metode sosiodrama terhadap kemampuan bahasa anak. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi terhadap orang tua dan guru dalam menstimulasi kemampuan bahasa anak, terlebih pada kosakata yang berkaitan dengan pengungkapan ekspresi dan perasaan pada anak.

2020 Sources of Acculturative Stress and Coping Strategies Among Asian International Students in China
This study aimed to identify sources of acculturative stress and the coping strategies among Asian international students in Hubei, China. A total sample of 162 students from China’s neighboring countries was recruited to complete the study’s online questionnaire. A 36-item questionnaire called the Acculturative Stress Scale for International Students (ASSIS) was used to measure perceived discrimination, homesickness, perceived hate, fear, culture shock, guilt, and miscellaneous as sources of acculturative stress. A brief COPE scale was used to measure coping strategies. Data from the survey were analyzed using statistical analysis. Results showed that overall, most Asian international students in Hubei, China did not experience acute acculturative stress. However, homesickness, cultural shock, and guilt were the most prevalent sources of acculturative stress. To cope with their stressful situations, most Asian international students used active (and not avoidant) coping strategies such as religion, active coping, planning, and instrumental support. Some socio-demographic characteristics such as length of stay, age, and education were also found to influence stress prevalence. Educators and administrators of international students in China need to identify students’ critical sources of stress among students and offer effective services that may help them cope with their acculturative stress.

2020 Media Buku Saku Berbasis Motorik Halus untuk Anak Pra-Sekolah
Penelitian pengembangan media Buku Saku Motorik Halus ini memiliki tujuan yaitu, untuk mengetahui hasil pengembangan buku saku dan untuk mendapatkan efektifitas buku saku motorik halus. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian R&D atau (Research and Development) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Desain uji coba yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Survei. Sasaran dalam penelitian ini yaitu 50 orang tua dan 50 Guru TK/RA di Kota Surabaya yang memiliki anak usia 4-5 tahun. Data diperoleh dan dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik kuesioner yang dilakukan secara online melalui google form, dan teknik dokumentasi yang berupa desain produk sebelum dan setelah direvisi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah media Buku Saku Motorik Halus. Dari hasil survei dan feedback guru dan orang tua menunjukkan bahwa buku saku motorik halus yang dikembangkan terbukti sangat valid. hal ini ditunjukkan melalui materi ataupun media yang ada pada buku saku, tingkat jelasan pada gambar/teks 3, 07, tingkat kesesuaian letak memliki nilai mean 3, 28, tingkat kualitas buku memiliki nilai 3, 15 yang artinya 51-75 tanggapan guru dan orang tua sangat efektif. Selanjutnya pada kemenarikan serta kesesuaian letak 3.28 dan tingkat ketepatan memiliki nilai mean 3.35 dimana nilai tersebut mendekati skor 4, yang artinya 76-100 berarti efektif. Hasil tersebut dapat dikategorikan sangat baik sehingga layak dan efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran disekolah ataupun dirumah. Hasil penelitian buku saku motorik halus ini memberikan implikasi pada perkembangan aspek motorik halus pada anak.

2020 Creating Props: Improving Writing Skills of Teaching Materials of Elementary Teacher Education Students through Project-Based Learning Model.
This study aimed to determine the improvement in writing skills of science teaching materials for elementary school teachers students through the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. This study used a quasi-experimental method with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design using portfolio assessment sheets to write science teaching materials. Data were analyzed using a T-test. This study's subjects were pre-service teacher students who contracted Natural Science Learning courses in the Elementary Teacher Education Program. The study results indicated that PjBL could increase pre-service teachers' skills in developing teaching materials relevant to the 21st-century skills, students' character, and the applicable curriculum. This result is evidenced by the results of the assessment, which increased significantly from 2.04 to 3.25. It is also based on the Wilcoxon test that Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) <0.05 which is 0.000. It means that there is an influence in the form of an increase in the PjBL

2020 Faktor Orang Tua dalam Memilih Taman Kanak-Kanak Bagi Anak Usia Dini
For parents, choosing a school for their kids is something that cannot be simple. As a first institution that give a proper education, kindergarten should facilitate children’s ‘golden age’to prepare them facing a real world. The aim of this study is to get information about what factor that parents should consider before they choose a suitable kindergarten for their beloved one. This research was using library research, which was a research method that using materials from library such as book and journal as a information source. Based on research, we can conclude that there are some factors that parents should consider, which was the location, cost, religious education partion, vision and mission, physical facilities, and teachers profile.

2020 Pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring pada masa pandemi covid-19 di TK Bias Yogyakarta
Covid-19 cases was first reported in March 2020. To protect their citizen, the goverment made some regulation and one of them is school from home. TK BIAS Giwangan is one of kindergarten that apply school from home since the regulation started. In this research, we would like to get the information about how TK BIAS GIWANGAN run their school from home programme. We used qualitative approach with observation and interview method. The result is TK BIAS GIWANGAN held a school from home programme. The fundamental reason for the teacher choosing learning theme is the easiness, simplicity, and interesting. They used Whatsapp and Zoom as the main application to held learning process. Assesment and evaluation process was held by observing chldren’s response and behaviour while learning by Zoom and they also did home visit to facilitate children that cannot join the class.
