Introducing contraception methods is one of the government ways to control population. In terms of its usage period, contraception can be distinguished into two; a short-acting and a long-acting methods of contraception. This research is aimed at knowing contraception method mainly used by the people in East Java, knowing the long-acting method of contraception largely used by the people in East Java, and knowing the roles of family planning field consultant in promotingcontraception method in East Java. The research usesa quantitative method. The location of the research is East Java. Research samples are 100 married men and women randomly chosen. The research findings show most women are in favor of contraceptive injection while most men prefer condom. Contraceptive injection is popular among women because of its durability. Men were not interested in using a long-acting method contraception since vasectomy was the only one contraception introduced. In this case, family planning field consultants have crucial roles in promoting contraceptive program. In the future, family planning field consultants still have great duties such as introducing the program to the society particularly to men, maintainingregular activity to publicize the program, and making use of social media to promote contraceptive program.
