PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER PERTAMA DAN UTAMA PADA MASA PRANIKAH DAN LINGKUNGAN KELUARGA | Pembentukan karakter bagi individu sesungguhnya diawali sejak masa pranikah sebagai awal proses pembetukan keluarga. Pendidikan karakter pada masa pranikah merupakan moment penting, hal tersebut disebabkan mengingat semua perasaan dan kasih sayang sejak pertemanan sampai pada sepakat membentuk keluarga melalui jenjang pernikahan merupakan cikal bakal terbentuknya karakter seorang individu. Dua sejoli yang sudah menikah ini masih menggebu dengan emosi masing-masing, sehingga memperkuat dasar terbentuknya karakter bagi keturunannya. |

SCHOOL CONFLICT AND CONFLICT MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES: A STUDY IN NURUL FIKRI ISLAMIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SIDOARJO EAST JAVA | A school comprises of various individuals that look to accomplish specific tasks through collaboration to reach school missions. Each individual contribute to school growth and has diverse unique characteristic, such as their own needs, capabilities, experiences, motivations, knowledges, and values. Thus, situation in school can be unpredictable and principal should understand the roots of any conflict and manage it. Aims of this study is to explore conflict in islamic elementary school located in Nurul Fikri Islamic Elementary School Sidoarjo East Java and analyze how principal face the conflict by using conflict management strategy. This study using qualitative method. Finding of this study is school conflict that occurred caused by lack of communitation, unmatch beetwen job description and qualification, goal conflict, limited source, and lack of interaction caused by different individual’s value which make clashes in perceptions and attitude. Principal face the conflict using collaboration strategy to find the best solution through discussion, accomodating strategy to analyze condition which the conflict occurred, and forcing strategy which has win-lose when conflict should resolve with. Finaly, author suggested some recommendation of this study. |

SCHOOL CULTURAL AS THE MAIN PILLAR OF CHARACTER EDUCATION | : Facing the era of globalization, character education gets serious attention in Indo-nesia. However, studies show that character education has not been effective yet, so the Gov-ernment of Indonesia issues the Presidential Regulation No. 87/2017 on Strengthening Charac-ter Education. However a research conducted by MOEC found 10 schools have successfully de-veloped character education based on the values of Pancasila philosophy combined with local wisdom. The purpose of this research was to find the main pillar of successful character education, es-pecially in elementary schools. The research used qualitative research methods with multi sites in the three primary schools mentioned in the MOEC study. Data were collected through a se-ries of observations and in-depth interviews from January to May 2017. Data analyzed simulta-neously through data condensation, data display and conclusion. The research found school culture was the main pillar of character education success. When school culture was built on the basis of the values that are believed to be good, then the school leaders, teachers and other school staffs will behave daily according to the culture. Then stu-dents will imitate their behavior and that means behaving in accordance with the values of the characters developed. It confirmed that everyone has a tendency to adapt to his environment. |
